Our Charity Partnerships
We give 10% of our profits to charities, non-profit organisations & environmental causes.
So far with your help we have donated £80k+ to charities and non-profit organisations.
So, how does it work?
What charities do you support?
We are committed to supporting the causes we feel passionate about, through our partnerships with worthy charities close to our hearts.
What is
#wearandcare ?
In every collection we design, we allocate some of the items to our #wear&care collection. £5 from the sale of each #wear&care item online goes to one of our charity partners.
What is #wearandcare Wednesday?
On the second Wednesday of every month, we donate 10% of our online sales that day to a small charity, chosen by one of our customers or team members.

At the end of the financial year, our accountant does the numbers to ensure any unallocated funds are split between our featured charity partners.

Sustainability
We're a small business and we plan to keep it that way, as it allows us to produce our collections in an ethical and sustainable way, and share our profits with our charity partners. We keep our productions small so there's less waste and make fewer styles than many brands, so we can focus on the quality and distinctive design of each piece.
Sustainable fabrics
- 90% of our garments we make are made from cotton or viscose, which are natural fibres that are biodegradable and less harmful than synthetic fibres.
- Most of our cotton garments, including all our t-shirts are made from organic cotton.
- By the end of 2021 we aim to have 75% of all our viscose from sustainably managed sources.
Recycled & Biodegradable packaging
- Our mailing bags are made from recycled paper and are fully recyclable.
- We are trialling biodegradable clothing bags made from plant material instead of using plastic and by November 2020 100% of products will be packed in biodegradable bags.
Ethical production
All our suppliers are asked to sign the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) which summarises the ethical standards under which our products must be manufactured.
These include paying a living wage, safe and humane working practices and zero discrimination. For the full ETI Base code see here.
Our Community (You guys!)
We love what we do, designing something that adds a little sunshine to your day.
By shopping Sugarhill you make it possible for us to keep making important stuff like dinosaur jumpers and dresses with pockets (pockets are everything) but also help us do our little bit to support other people, animals and our planet. Thank you for being awesome!
'I think it’s great sending your parcels in brown paper bags, why doesn’t everyone do that?'
Jeanette
'Nothing I have seen internet shopping has come even close to your clothes. I have bought 4 items and had so many compliments and it feels great!'
Jennie
'...Thank you for making me feel so good in your clothes, and for making me stand out... I wish my entire wardrobe was Sugarhill!'
Ophélie
I just wanted to send a note to say that my order arrived today, and they are utterly gorgeous and fit perfectly. Also, it was SUCH a lovely surprise to receive a super cute tote bag with my order! I can't wait to get outside and use it!

Our Team
When we say 'small team' we mean it! Our small business currently employs 15 people across our studio, warehouse and stores. 99% of our staff are women and as a small team, its essential we support each other to deliver the best product and service we can, which has fostered many great friendships over the years. We're firm believers in beach lunch-breaks, park rounders and office dogs, as well as being a Living Wage Employer.
We are one of over 4,700 employers across the UK who have proudly committed to pay a real Living Wage to our staff, independently calculated to be enough for employees and their families to live on.
Want to know more? Visit www.livingwage.org.uk to find out everything you need to know about the rates and who currently pays the Living Wage.
Our Studio
- 90% of our prints are hand-drawn and digitalised by our designer Olivia, in our seaside studio.
- Living in Brighton the majority of our staff 'commute' on foot or by bicycle.
-Our website images are shot at a lovely photography studio in Brighton, to further reduce our carbon footprint.
The Family Business
The journey began in 2002 with Pawel opening a pop-up clothing store in Barcelona. Fresh out of Brighton University, Pawel's little sister Aleks was recruited over to Spain to co-manage the store. Inspired by their love of travel, Pawel and Aleks designed and produced clothing for the store on the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia. These hand-finished styles were a big hit with customers, and so, in 2006 Sugarhill Boutique was created, with Brighton, UK as it's new design base.
Our Warehouse
- To ensure we give you the best service possible we don't outsource our website stock management to anyone else. Our Brighton based warehouse allows us to see the stock 'in person, dispatch orders quickly and give real time customer care.
Our warehouse team of 4 pack all our orders by hand, in recycled and recyclable paper packaging.
